If you are going to invest in Family Portraits, why not include the beloved family dog?!
Pets are such a big part of the family, and in particular the family dog/s. I recently had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family and their beloved dog Bailey. I think the main reason why I loved this photo shoot so much is because I learnt of Bailey's life journey and how she is such a significant part of the family.
Mum is Mexican and Dad is Australian, and Bailey came into their lives when they were living in the USA before having children. I was told that they don't actually know what breeds she is but that they believe she mainly has German Shepherd and Husky in her. Either way, Bailey is one very beautiful and unique looking dog!
To get Bailey to Australia was also an ordeal. Having to be quarantined for 3 months before and after arriving in Australia, her owners sure were determined to make sure she stayed with them. Since then she has welcomed their gorgeous girls into the world and I was told about how there was no jealously upon their first girl arriving, only love. There is even photographs of her and Bailey together when she was just a baby, how very sweet!
Based in Melbourne's outer eastern suburbs, we organised the photo shoot to take place at The Liverpool Road Retarding Basin in Boronia. When doing outdoor photo sessions I always organise these for sunset and we really got the perfect sunset this day with that beautiful golden light!
Photographing this gorgeous family, I could clearly see the bond each one of them shares with Bailey and how much they love her. And she honestly gives unconditional love in return, even if she is a typical dog that doesn't always listen to instructions! What I found so special is how the girls' faces light up when talking about Bailey and telling me stories about things she does. They just utterly adore her!
So if you have been thinking about updating your family portraits and you also have a beloved dog, I would love to take these memorable photographs for you that will be treasured forever!
